Who is Steve McNair?

Steve LaTreal McNair (February 14, 1973 – July 4, 2009),nicknamed Air McNair, was an American football quarterback, who spent the majority of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans.

McNair played college football at Alcorn State, where he won the 1994 Walter Payton Award as the top player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was drafted third overall by the NFL's Houston Oilers in 1995. He became the Oilers' regular starting quarterback in 1997, their first season in Tennessee and remained the starting quarterback for the Titans until 2005. After the 2005 season, McNair was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, with whom he played for two seasons before retiring after 13 NFL seasons.

On July 4, 2009, the bodies of McNair and a woman, Sahel Kazemi, were found in McNair's home in Nashville; both bodies had gunshot wounds. On July 8, 2009, the Nashville-Davidson County assistant medical examiner announced that traces of gun residue were found on the hands of Sahel Kazemi and confirmed that their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, with McNair the victim.

Many were shocked of McNair's instant death and until now, people are saddened with the great lost of this extraordinary personality in the field of American football.
