Gu Hye Sun is a South Korean popular actress and also a singer, who has recently gained fame in a hit drama, Pure in Heart as a starring role, Gukhwa and also sang the title song of it. She is well-known for portraying Geum Jan Di in KBS 2TV's drama Boys Over Flowers together with Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum and Kim Joon. Goo Hye Sun also starred in many other roles.

She also has gained attention for appearing as a cameo role in the film, August Rush as one beggar. She is in YG Entertainment. She started debuting in drama by appearing in 2005's Nonstop 5.

She recently wrote a book, "Tango" which is a love story focusing on one girl who falls in love with three guys. The book received good reviews and many critics and netizens praised her for her well structured sentences. This book is currently a bestseller, selling 30,000 copies within a week.

She was involved in a car accident on February 27, 2009 when her car was hit by a dumped truck. Luckily, she was saved by her leading man, Lee Min Ho, who took her into a nearby hospital. She owes her thanks to her close friend and her co-star.
