Being silent in my room, surfing the Internet and checking my mail, suddenly my father burst saying that the world is in chaos and the happenings of the tragic Ondoy typhoon of the Philippines are cause by worshippers of images.

I rose with extreme madness because I don't want his criticism. He judges the Catholics and I am a Christian Catholic. Worshipping God is not the image we worship. The pictures of Jesus in the cross and the existence that we give recognition to the Saints and Mother Mary is our (Catholics) recognition of their presence. Images (as what my father is intending to mean) is not we worship. It is just a representation that Jesus, the Saints and Mother Mary exist as They are, Holy and Marvelous. We worship Jesus from the heart.

My father is a Catholic before. He was baptist to another religion. And I don't want the way he judges all the Christian Catholics. It is like that he is not a Catholic before.

I don't even judge him with his new religion now. I believe that religion can't save us. I believe that salvation (no matter what religion you are in) is in you, the way you accept God as your Saviour. It is a matter of how you give importance to Jesus, if you are sorry for your sins and if you welcome Him into your life.

That is why, I don't really want my father's criticisms especially the way he judges the Catholics.
