For years, even past time decade, artists express themselves in art through painting. The kind of artistic and creative works evidently shown what they want to portray or appear to their audiences.
It has been noted that there are lots of paintings that are not easy to understand. It is obviously figurative in meaning. Thus, the only exciting mystery of being an artist, a painter is that they are only the sole, extraordinary person that could unlock the mystery behind what they have portrayed. It is the reason why until now artists shared hanging explanations when audience are trying to simply look at their masterpiece. What lies in that hidden mystery is what most of the people from all walks of life get attracted into.
In fact, there are various individuals that when they go to a certain places or when they have trips to attend to, all they want is to reminisce the memories they have in that certain wonderful place and many of them prefer to buy paintings of various genre as a sort of memorabilia.
A good case in point is the graffiti artist, Banksy. He has loaded his artworks with double meaning. He respects his audience and that's why you have to stop for a few seconds to understand each of his artworks.
