Who are we? Why were we here? Why do we exist? Why were we created? What are God’s plans why he created man?
These are some of the questions which search me to look for answers based on God’s purpose of creating man on Earth. I can view my explanation based on the following:

1. Man as a steward over God’s creation.
In Genesis 1:26, it was clearly stated that God made man in His image and likeness to let him rule over his creations on earth. One of the purpose of man is to be a good steward of all things that are created by God, those things both living and non-living. The kind of task that God sets on man are regarded him as superior in rank because to “take over” means that man has the capacity to rule. He is a leader. He has a distinct characteristic which is not present in animals, the kind of power that dominates to lead. In this sense, God puts responsibility in him. Man’s works are always paired with responsibility and accountability, a unique trust that is always imprinted in man’s spirit as human beings which God put man the center of his creation in order to be the steward of all things that he has created.

2. God created man in His image and likeness, He created him: male and female. (Gen. 1: 26-27)
God made man to be like Him. In fact, man is the most important creature among all the creatures that God made for only the man was created in the image of God. The other living creatures like the dog, cat, rabbit, microbes, etc. are not the replica of God’s image. Humans are specially crafted the way God wanted it to be. God and man are of the same image that is God should look like us. Because man is created “in His image”, it clearly means that God created the soul of man in His image. Here, the physical form of man is not what has given more emphasis of His image but rather the soul of man which reflects God’s image. In this manner, man was made by God and not by himself.

3. God’s purpose of the creation of man is to serve the Lord with gladness.

It was stated in 1 Cor. 15:32, “Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.”
Man is not created not for the sake to eat, drink and be merry. He serves the Lord in worship, to acknowledge Him that the Lord is God. In the clear view, man was created by God to adore and worship Him, for man to know that it was God who made him in like manner it fulfills the very purpose of man’s existence – to know and adore God. Thus, as God became man, He sets an example for us to follow. Knowing God, knowing who we are and understanding our relationship with God will make us realize our obligation to serve Him. This is our responsibility.

4. Man inherits the kingdom.
In the teaching of Luke 12: 32, it says, “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.”
Man has given by God all the chances to be rich by becoming God’s joint-heir in all His creations. God made the earth not completely furnished but God lets the people creatively work in order to fill, improve and to make beautiful man’s creations out from His land. On the other hand, God is choosing groups of people, making them righteous and holy so that they can live with Him forever. All of them will inherit the kingdom of God.

5. Man has a body. God created the body from the dust to the earth and it will return to the dust.
Gen. 2: 7 says, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground.” When man’s life ends and of course, that is the end of the body and we are dead. But because man has a body, man’s soul continues to live and will never die. But when man dies, he will return to the dust.
5. God made the world so that there could be a space where He might communicate His love, and from which the response of love might come back to him.
In order for God to communicate His love, He made some beings capable of loving in return had to exist. They were invited to respond other wise if there could not respond, there could be no true and free love. Thus, the persons are made by God with intelligence, will and a space which to decide what he will be.

6. God created man to take dominion over His creations.
I can connote this of the existence of Adam and Eve. Adam was to rule, Eve had to rule with Him. Both had to rule together. Dominating the earth needs Adam and Eve. Eve, because she was a part of Adam’s very being, completed Adam which in the like manner, both should take dominion over God’s creation.

7. God gave man a mind (spirit), heart (emotions) and will (freedom of choice).
God gave man a mind capable of knowing God and thinking as God thinks. God gave man such a powerful mind because He planned for man is to have close fellowship with Him. God has given to man a spirit that has the possibility of enjoying a meaningful relationship with the Living God.
God placed a heart in the soul of man when He created him in His image. God gave man a heart so that he could love God. God gave the first man the capacity to feel the emotions that God Himself feels.
God gave the man free choices to choose between right and wrong. The very purpose why He lets this so because of His great love to man that He understands to respect man’s decision, to love with it or learn from them.

8. God made man to subdue the earth and multiply.
God made man in order to fill the earth filled with humans. Through marriage, reproduction and love, the creation of human beings spread around the world. The existence of millions of people here on earth is manifestation of God’s purpose of creating man numerously. This freely indicates that God’s love is overflowing.

9. God made man to keep His promise of love and forgiveness.
God died in the cross not for something else, not for a sort of nothingness but for a great sacrifice of saving man’s sinfulness and free them from punishments. God made this in order to fulfill His promise of great love for man to realize that He is God. The way He lets Himself be crucified is His way of love in order to make known His big forgiveness.

10. God made Himself man.
God made man in His image and likeness and in order to manifest Himself as one of us, He was born into the world with Joseph, His father and Mary, His mother through the Holy Spirit. In this manner, the very purpose why God lets man to live is in order to manifest and make His existence in the purpose of dwelling into this world. He, made Himself presence in the world full of man in order to mean the purpose of man’s being.
